All UNIX installations of Crystal Enterprise and all Windows installations configured to use the Crystal Enterprise Java SDK include a Web Component Adapter. In this configuration, a Java application server is required to host the Web Component Adapter and the Crystal Enterprise Java SDK. The use of a web server is optional as you may choose to have static content hosted by the application server.
